Creativity
What do we need?
I believe that I am creative, and so are you. We just have some conundrums.
For example, there’s our love for perfection.
We are allergic to risks. We shy away from failures.
There’s also our childhood.
The restricted meals of self-worthiness we subsisted on in our early years.
And the belief system.
The small shallow pond of ideas we are allowed to swim through.
And our domestic roles.
Maybe we are the main breadwinners or the only caregivers.
And also, our shadows.
The dark things we think we should hide only to belong.
And of course (dear lovely girls), money.
Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen, and Judith Shakespeare knew that.
But we can always find a way to create. We can square up to our fears. Just look at life from the other side of the grave.
I wrote that piece after a long session of contemplating over the meaning of creativity.
I believe that we all are creative the moment we open our eyes in the morning.
Making a cup of coffee is creativity. Finishing a project is creativity. Writing a short line is creativity. Doing inner work is creativity. Being vulnerable is creativity. Rest is creativity. Showing compassion is creativity. Loving others is creativity.
They all are about what we can do with what we have.
Therefore, give yourself permission to be creative today.
Thanks for reading.
Sending you my love 💓
